Creative

dust2..mop2..

ahh..cuci apa2 yg tak patut kat sinih...cough2..
erm, I was inspired a couple of times to jot something here, but..life happens..so there is, thank god, still today!

last year was a hectic one, a lot of ongoing projects. I went for 3 overseas business trip and 2 more scheduled this year (or 3?) I think. I'm beginning to believe when people say your job can consume you. It's like..ok..I'll do this..and then..oh ok..I'll get that done first..

suddenly, it's been 3 years on the job already!Mmm..people's been telling me that 3 years is long enough to stick with a job (gen-y syndrome), but I'm known as a famous/infamous procrastinator. I believe that's what I doing here.

whatever it is, I was recently inspired by one creative blog. She blogged about her adopted daughter and very different but creative infused lifestyle. I like reading about her daughter, it makes you feel there's endless possibilities in this world. Plus she makes beautiful arts.Wish I could be as creative as these artsy people.

on top is a picture of me at a stop near the great ocean road, australia. (never thought that I will ever be in australia, and at a job assignment at that! I take it as a bonus to be an underpayed engineer..huhu)

Kunci Rumah

Received my keys to the house on Monday.

1) padlock keys are not included (how to open the locked window grills? menyusahkan btol!)
2) front sliding door kaputt
3) walls have lots of nails, mabe previous tenants like to hang pictures and also holes with uneven filling (trying to cover up places they've put the nails, i think)
4) lawn pipe leaking
5) parquet needs to be repaired (no termites, but the quality is not that good, so if want it to look good, have to install new tiles/floor, or just let it be and cover with carpet)
6) kitchen's small to my mom's standard

Yesterday called in a recommended contractor by my aunt. She says his price can be a bit on the high side but the work is excellent. Mmm..I hope so, because I don't plan to get other contractors since it would be a headache just to look for a reliable one.

Anyhow, he went around the house...

1) will quote on repair works, this include, pipe repair, parquet, fill in minor wall cracks so the paint will adhesive better.
2) polish marble, paint the whole house (doors, grills included)
3) install wiring for airconds, heater and kitchen
4) cover up an area near the front door with polycarbonate to make place functional
5) we discussed on how to get the kitchen done. I hate to spend the only savings I have, but why bother buying a house in the first place if you're not planning to turn it into a home for your family right? So I think this is where i will have to sacrifice. Make a good kitchen for my mom.
After a few suggestion, Mr. Lim (the contractor) mentioned that yess, its going to be expensive, but better to do it before you move in so that it wont be a hassle next time. Conclusion, he will draft something on extending the kitchen to get a small wet area, not so big dry kitchen but also gained a new modest dining area and make the existing dining area the second living room.

all in all, he says that this can easily reach 35k!!! Jarghhhhh! duit duit...dimanakau duitt!! am I ready to spend this much amount of money?
Bear in mind, before renovation I might have to prepare RM3000, just to get permit, after renovation spent some more for blinder/curtains, kitchen cabinets, wardrobe bla bla bla bla...which I think can easily be another 20k! OMG!OMG!..

ok relax...do not hyperventilate...I will work something out..I will.
Also, need to move in before Raya, coz I dont want to spend more money paying for the rent.

Pulau Perhentian

Last week we went to P.Perhentian (neyn, oznur (visiting from germany)and me) pushing off from Penang to Kuala Besut friday night, arriving subuh sepii on saturday morning.

I took a bus before that to Penang from Kuala Lumpur (5hrs!) but because I was excited, tak kisahla.

So, we tumpang from Penang we hitch a ride from abe ajih and once we arrive at the jetty, eat nasik dagang, we splitted. Him and us, coz he has his thang to do, we have our thang. We met abe le, who kindly look around for a place to stay eventhough we've informed him last minute. We were lucky to find one.

during the boatride (changed into 3 boats; 1. slow 2. speed 3. small speed RM60 return trip) to get to our chalet on Coral View Island resort (RM120 pernight), I slept most of the time, coz the ride from Penang to Kuala Besut was very tiring and the rode was bumpy, of course no sleep there.

Chalet was good, I like the it, its facing the sea but on a higher ground hidden in the forest. The one exactly along the beach is too expensive! Mostly mat saleh occupied.

Sampai2, we went mandi manda, me snorkel2 but as I am a bit chicken, so I did not go anywhere my feet doesnt touch the sea floor..muuahua

end up nena as usual like a mermaid, swam so far away, I can only see her blue butt from a distance. It was a day of leisure.

The next day, on Sunday morning, we took a snorkel trip (RM35). This is actually my second time snorkeling and guess what! Hiyargghhh, its near the open sea. First time was in Sapi Island, and that was child's play lor. So the first stop was called shark's point. Guess what, you can see sharks there! Again thanks to mermaid nena helping sotong intan, I was a bit brave to put on the life jacket and jumped into the sea.

The wonders of snorkeling is that, the sea contained a lot of beautiful fishes that you can never imagine to see. I saw sharks as well, nena was a bit worried, but I think I was much more worried that I was going to drown...hahuahua...

Then next, since the cute boatdriver was hungry, plus I am getting a bit seasick because the water was kind of unsteady due to the strong waves, we stopped at an island filled with abg-abg bomba camping. That was awkward, so we quickly did our business and went of to the turtle point to see the turtles! Managed to saw a few, but they are not friendly creatures, so let's just leave them to their fun. (Nena was the only one who was brave enough to swim along the boat as we kind off have to chase after the turtle and its the open sea where you can't even see the bottom!)

Afterwards, went back to our beach, dozed off, eat keropok and took the return boat at 4pm back to Kuala Besut. I've decided to take the night bus from Kuala Besut direct to KL instead of returning via Penang. Fortunately, I bumped into Fairuz (x-school mate) at the Jetty, so we went to dinner together and I had company to chit chat before boarding the bus.

So the bus ride was crazy btw! It was an ok school bus, the aircond was so cold, but there was weird sounds coming out whenever the driver did some kona baring manouvers. At that time I just wish that I will arrive home safely.

After dozing on and off, getting my heart jerked out whenever I feel like the bus going to topple off-road, we arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 6.30 am Monday morning (bus from K.Besut at 9.30pm. Called Chip to pick up, freshen up, then went to the office at 7am from KL. Well, it seems I did make it! I arrive around 7.45 am with the help of one of the most expensive highway, PLUS.

My thinking is that, it is possible to go off on a trip on weekends and still be back in the office on Monday morning feeling refreshed! hahah..provided the trip not the physical type la kot. Coz I can still remember my one and only weekend trip to Tirol for skiing, which does not end well. We were bruised and almost died (exagerated) when we return to Heilbronn.

So friends! jom pi jalan2! (erm...not too often though..haha..kopakla nanti kan)

Langkawi

Bestnyer mandi laut...lalalla..

Last week I went to Langkawi wif me momma for her 50th birthday. Kind of weird jugak, sbb pergi berdua, slalunyer my sister will entertain my mom, so when there's only 2 of us I have to entertain her...so I will say that it's challenging...hahahha

Biasala my mom..not adventurous (btui ka spelling nih?). hahaha...so far my experience of jalan2 will consist of people yg suka merayau eventhough if you have no exact place to go..just round2 carik makan ka..tgk2 org ka...

so end up we did manage to do all the essentials in Langkawi : cable car, island hopping, mandi laut (me alone), mandi swimming pool (me alone), forced my mom to take a drive to Pantai chenang and The Andaman (super posh hotel)...and shopping was the only thing my mom was enthusiatic about...huh..
but further than that, like what I wanted: mangrove tour, drive up to datai bay, fish feeding..things like that...tak boleh la...

But in a way its for my mom's birthday, so as long as she's happy then I'm happy...
the happiest part would be shopping for chocolate...3 Rittersport for RM 12...cheap wat..so we bought as much as we can (NOT rittersport only la)

Maybe next time we can look for a cheaper travel, no need to go pulau....since my mom is the indoor type..i think better for the family to go to places like A Famosa or pay for an expensive hotel somewhere in KL for 2 nights..then wont feel like ur obligated to spend time doing something, can leisure2 on the bed.

sedekah,zakat,fitrah

My mom is so strict, although i told her she can pay my fitrah on my behalf, using my money, she still insist that i go to Pakcik (Imam near my hse) to pay it myself.
So yesterday was the second time I paid my own fitrah. In a way its a good practise, reading the akad yourself.

Talking about sedekah, let us rajin2kan diri bersedekah in this holy month. I still cannot understand how people easily splurge on buka puasa and end up easily throwing out what they dont eat. Of all the months, this is the time when you bought too much, give it off to your friends, neighbours, beggars ka...

Cannot understand how you say, tak sempat makan, so have to throw it out. It sounds to me that you're so greedy you want to keep it to yourself and eventhough you think you wouldnt be eating the food, you dont want some else to eat it..

In another situation, you dont feel guilty because it was sedekah to you by your neighbours, but it's still the same.if you share, it can easily be finished. Or if you dont want it in the first place, give it off to family people...senang jer nak abihkan..

please please people...appreciate food more...

so far my sedekah is still questionable as well...so hopefully i can improve, if only i remember to always bring my purse along to surau..

Bored

Is it normal to feel bored all the time? I kind of seldom feel bored, I always have things to do..but now the things to do make me feel bored as well...

I feel unchallenged, undriven....what is going on with my life?

I always focused on short term goal as I dont have a long term one, e.g. take SPM, get degree, get a job...

I dont have a goal now..and uninspired..time is against me...
